John Henry

My latest project involved doing designs for the old folktale "John Henry." We were lucky enough to have Shannon Jeffries (art director on Madagascar) from Dreamworks come in and give feedback. Originally I was aiming for an Enrique Fernandez-esque style, but it was later decided that Doug Fraser's style would compliment the subject matter more effectively. I actually liked the style change, as studying the varying styles not only helped to better understand those talented artists, but helped me to branch out of my comfort zone. I'm pretty happy with the results.

yo kev I really loved all your work from the John Henry project, especially the brutepop style piece. Always was a huge KMFDM fan since high school so ya got my nostalgic side with that piece. Hey did you apply for that one gig that Courtney sent the two of us? Hope you did and we both get hired so we can work together in the future. It may not be video games but we'll get there real soon. I have no doubt about it.
